Union of Medical Care and Relief Organizations (UOSSM) is a union of humanitarian medical organizations, non-governmental, non-political, registered in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Turkey. Member organizations mobilize and coordinate their resources for joint projects with a mission to provide medical aid. UOSSM is a neutral and independent humanitarian organization established for victims affected by crises, working within the framework of a unified strategic union association to increase the effectiveness of the humanitarian response in crisis areas. The Union of Medical Care and Relief Organizations (UOSSM) was established in Paris in January 2012 in response to the Syrian humanitarian crisis, by eight Syrian doctors from around the world, and has become one of the largest providers of medical relief services in Syria, UOSSM is local and international and provides humanitarian relief and medical care to all victims of crises, regardless of their nationality, race, religion, or political affiliation.

BREAKING: Another UOSSM Staff Killed, Syrian Doctors Plead For Help In Daraa

On June 27 at seven pm Damascus time, Yusuf Ayyash, A UOSSM warehouse worker at the Giza office, was killed by an airstrike along with his wife and daughter. This is the third UOSSM staff member to be killed in less than a week.
As the besiegement of Daraa escalates, four hospitals and one primary health care centrewere attacked and have been put out of service. Nearly 60,000 people have been displaced by the violence since June 19, and have nowhere to turn with Jordan’s borders closed and the western suburbs under siege. 
The Al-Mseifra hospital suffered extensive damage after three airstrikes. Saida Hospital, Al Harak Hospital, Al Jiza Hospital and Basra al Harer PHC were also bombed and put out of service in addition to reports of two Syrian Civil Defense centres (White Helmets) being attacked. 
Five medical staff have been killed (three staff from UOSSM) and at least 60 civilians were murdered since June 19th.

BREAKING: UOSSM Ambulance Driver Killed By Airstrike In Daraa

 A volunteer UOSSM ambulance driver, Abdulhadi Al Hariri, was killed today at 1 p.m. Damascus time in a targeted “double tap” attack, as first responders were headed to evacuate wounded victims of an attack in Busr Al Harir. The driver was already transporting one wounded victim as the ambulance was targeted by an airstrike, but not directly hit. Abdul hadi radioed in that he needed emergency help. First responders desperately searched for him for over four hours only to find him in the ambulance, killed by the second attack.

BREAKING: UOSSM PHC Attacked In Daraa

Geneva, Switzerland- On June 24 at 5 PM Damascus time, a UOSSM primary health care centre in Busra Al Harir, Daraa was hit by a direct airstrike and suffered extensive damage. The facility was previously evacuated and there were no casualties. The centre served 5,000 patients per month.

PERSBERICHT: Hospitaal voor Vrouwen en Kinderen in Idlib gebombardeerd VOOR ONMIDDELLIJKE PUBLICATIE 10 JUNI 2018

Op 10 juni heeft een serie luchtaanvallen in Idlib, Syrië tien doden veroorzaakt onder wie twee kinderen. Achttien mensen zijn gewond geraakt.

Het Al Nour Hospitaal voor Vrouwen en Kinderen werd tijdens een luchtaanval getroffen, raakte zwaar beschadigd en kon daardoor niet meer functioneren. Het hospitaal voorziet in de medische zorg voor 35000 mensen.

Reaching out with mental health services for displaced Syrians

“The patient told me if he had a gun, he would commit suicide,” recalls Yasir*, a mental health professional working in war-torn north-western Syria. He was speaking with a divorced father of 3 who was distraught at the breakup of his family. “I said, ‘Why a gun?’ He answered, ‘The fast way is a gun. I would suffer with a knife.’”

Like many mental health care providers in Syria, Yasir faces difficult cases every day. Unlike his peers, though, his patients do not come to him. He goes to them, travelling in a WHO-supported mental health mobile clinic that visits villages, camps for displaced people, and other hard-to-reach places. “Internally displaced people are running from bombs. Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is common among them,” he says.

ZEER BELANGRIJK BERICHT: DOOR GROOTSCHALIGE AANVAL MET CHEMISCHE WAPENS ZEKER 25 DODEN EN 500 GEWONDEN IN GHOUTA VOOR ONMIDDELLIJKE PUBLICATIE APRIL 2018

– Zojuist is een grootschalige aanval met chemische wapens in Douma, Oost-Ghouta gerapporteerd die vandaag 7 april heeft plaatsgevonden. Eerste gegevens wijzen op een aantal van 25 doden en meer dan 500 gewonden. Het is zeer waarschijnlijk dat deze aantallen zullen toenemen. Veel van de slachtoffers zijn kinderen. De aanval valt samen met talrijke aanvallen op medische voorzieningen in Douma waardoor het grootste ziekenhuis niet meer gebruikt kan worden en een medische voorziening van de Rode Halve Maan zwaar beschadigd is. Het aantal slachtoffers nam toe door het grote aantal mensen dat binnen Syrië gevlucht is en dat nu zich dicht op elkaar in de schuilplaatsen bevindt.

BELANGRIJK PERSBERICHT OVER DE SITUATIE IN OOST-GHOUTA 27 FEBRUARI 2018

Het staakt-het-vuren van de VN Veiligheidsraad geschonden; twee ziekenhuizen aangevallen; 20 doden.

Genève, Zwitserland – Minder dan 24 uur nadat resolutie 2401 van de VN Veilgheidsraadwerd aangenomen, werden er twee medische instellingen aangevallen. Doel van de resolutie was te komen tot wapenstilstand van 30 dagen in heel Syrië, dit gezien de rampzalige situatie. Bij de aanval werden minstens 20 burgers gedood en meer dan 70 raakten gewond.

De beide medische instellingen in Oost-Ghouta werden geraakt tijdens luchtaanvallen, raakten zwaar beschadigd en werden in de ochtend van 25 februari buiten gebruik gesteld. Er was geen sprake van slachtoffers. Tenminste 20 burgers werden gedood in andere gebieden van Ghouta tijdens aanhoudende zware luchtbombardementen op burgerdoelen. Tenminste 541 burgers werden gedood en duizenden raakten gewond in de week van 18 t/m 25 februari.

Third Day Of Bombings Traps Civilians in Rubble; Aid Agencies Desperate

Netherland - The death toll continues to rise as the relentless indiscriminate campaign continues against eastern Ghouta. There were 70 civilians killed today and over 296 wounded. A total of 13 hospitals and humanitarian facilities were also targeted, leaving thousands in a humanitarian catastrophe.
One nurse was killed in the attacks. A total of 22 hospitals have been put out of service since Sunday
